Shavout!!!

In the upcoming weeks we will be strengthening the many different skills we've worked on this past year.
We have been reviewing letters, numbers, colors and shapes as well as our fine motor, gross motor, sensory and cognitive skills.
The yelasim had to search for Aleph - Zayin letters in the sand box and name them, some also searched to find a matching letter.
Moshe is drawing something for our end of the year project.

Maor tried to hide from Morah by putting on his sunglasses.
Some children traced the laminated letters with play dough while others tried to form the letters without it.
Moshe took a play dough mask cutter and pretended they were glasses, too cute!

We practiced counting numbers 1-10 while hanging number flowers on Har Sinai.

Another one of the end of year projects ........

We dot painted flowers and stamped trees on Har Sinai. Some of us tried to only do the dots inside the flowers that was challenging.

We practiced recognizing, matching and counting flowers to the correct Mountain.

We played a Domino Shavout game, this was tricky but we like a challenge.

This was the part of a project we will be sending home this week but somehow it managed to fly all over the classroom...........

Thats ok we have some amazing helpers who ran to get the "kids broom" and help sweep up the mess...... We love team work!

We began learning about Shavout. Getting ready to receive the Torah and learn what laws are written inside. We learned a song to help us remember that Hashem chose Har Sinai cause he was a humble mountain. We decided to make Har Sinai happy by turning him into a beautiful colorful mountain.

Morah Danit sang us songs of how sweet Israel is and we did a great job hitting the drums to the rhythm.

We made our own Aron Kodesh for the classroom to keep the Sefer Torahs inside, we were so busy we forgot to take pics of the parochet that we painted. We decorated the Torahs by making them a crown.

We worked hard to snip card stock paper to create grass, wish we could tell you more but you have to wait......

Lag Baomer

Cutting up wrapping paper for one of our Mothers Day specials
Lag Ba'omer Fire, we discussed the colors of fire, the heat, the light.......
We learned that we use real wood to make bon fires, here Maor is adding wood to our classroom bon fire!

We painted our feet, we will send home that project in a few weeks

"Ve ahavta le reicha kamocha" - the children are putting what Rabbi Akiva taught us into play. "Love your friend like you love yourself"
Collecting sticks for our bon fire

Sivan is climbing the rock climbing wall

S                          earching for our first letter that begins with our English names.

Morah read us a book of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai and his son and how they hid in the cave from the mean Romans and learned Torah!

Then we learned that to hide from the Romans from catching us learning Torah, the Jews would play with bows and arrows and make bon fires.
Stop, Drop and Roll is what we know to do if chas ve shalom (g-d forbid) we get caught                       on fire!

Thank you to the wonderful Parents who volunteered in the classroom so that Morah Necha and I can enjoy a delicious breakfast!
Above the children used rocks to spell out letters in the Aleph Beit.
We laced beads on pipe cleaners, not sure who had more fun the yeladim or Daniels dad?

                                                      Wednesday with Morah Lily

The kids love Morah Lily they ran over to give her a goodbye hug

Nursery three invited us to join them for a fun Lag Baomer party!

Then Morah retold us how special this day is and how on this day Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai shared the secrets from the Torah with his students.

The children pretended to roast real marshmallows and then ate them all up!
